Benefits of Membership - Products & Services

Here are the highlights of the Products and Services we provide to our Members:

Credit Reports

Credit reports can be obtained with a signed rental application from the prospective tenants granting us permission to run the report. There is a small fee for this service.

Landlord/Tenant Complaints

We can access our files to see if there have been any Landlord/Tenant complaints filed against a prospective tenant within Pennsylvania since 1995. There is no fee for this service if a credit report is run. There is a small fee to obtain this information separately.

Landlord Legal Counseling

If there is a question or problem that cannot be answered by our office staff, then our members may contact the Apartment Asociation's Attorney to ask their question about a legal matter involving their rental property. There is no charge for occasional phone calls to the attorney.

Lease and Legal Seminar

We hold an annual Lease and Legal Seminar that discusses the correct procedures for dealing with tenants and managing rental housing. This includes the correct procedures for evictions, security deposits, tenant screening methods, and much, much more. The seminar has two speakers, an experienced landlord and the attorney for the Apartment Association. This seminar is free to all members.

Dinner Meetings and Seminars

Plan to get together with other Landlords to discuss a broad range of interesting topics. A speaker for each evening is scheduled to provide you with up-to-date information on their specific topic. It is always a very interesting and informative evening.

We compile and mail a newsletter each month to all members. It is also available to our members free of charge from our web site. It has interesting information, news relating to the rental business, tips, and much more. Members also receive the quarterly newsletter from our statewide organization PROA with information about what is going on in the state legislature and throughout the state concerning the residential rental industry.

Forms

We provide our members with a variety of current up-to-date forms designed specifically for the Landlord/Property Manager in our area. There is a small fee for forms to cover printing costs. All our forms are available to our members free of charge from our "Members" section of our website. Some examples are:

PROA

Your membership in the Apartment Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania also makes you a member of the Pennsylvania Residential Owners Association. PROA is the state-wide organization that provides a voice for Landlords and Property Managers in Pennsylvania government, and acts as a conduit for sharing information with other Landlords across Pennsylvania. -->
